About Chetwins

Fraser Chetwin started the business in 1972. Fraser started with fencing, then got his drainlayers ticket & the business grew from there. 2020 Fraser decided it was time to hang up his boot & go fishing. With his broad experience in the industry and his ‘can-do’ attitude and ability to get things done, Gerry Hoyle jumped in boots & all, taking over the management in July 2020.
Gerry is now carrying on the proud tradition and solid reputation the company has forged over the years. Under his management he has stepped up the tempo, doubling the staff keep up with demand for services. With branches in Pahiatua and Upper Hutt, the focus for Chetwins is the underground services for subdivision, onsite wastewater and rain harvest systems for rural properties.

Gerry Hoyle

Director

Gerry’s can-do attitude and ability to find solutions has seen him excel in a range of industries. From sweeping the floor to production manager, salesman to sales manager at leading scaffolding company Easy Access Co. Production manager of fabrication division of Accent Group. Production manager to sales manager at Waterflow NZ LTD. Gerry loves getting on the tools and is on site wherever possible and it is his extensive expertise in project management that keeps Chetwins’ projects on time and on budget.

Eric Chetwin

Team Leader/Project Manager

Eric came straight out of school into the then family business in 2010, working his way up the process to helping his Father run the business prior to Gerry taking over the business in July 2020. He brings a wealth of experience gained over 11 years working in the civil construction industry. Eric is a Certifying drain layer with a high standard of workmanship, runs tidy sites and ensures projects are on task to meet deadlines, this along with his problem-solving abilities have become invaluable to our clients & team.

Andrew Filiata

Team Leader/Project Manager

Andrew recently joined our team in February 2021, prior to joining us he was in the building industry. He is a qualified builder and with his broad range of skills, an eye for detail and a wealth of knowledge in project managing to meet deadlines & problem-solving abilities are invaluable to our team making sure the team and machines are on site when they need to be.

Vaughan Jones

Certified Drainlayer

Vaughan has worked for Chetwins for around two decades meaning he brings extensive expertise in civil and residential drainlaying to every project. Vaughan has a sound understanding of issues that can commonly crop up and his experience means he is often able to find solutions before problems occur making him a valuable asset to the Chetwins team.

Lisa Hoyle

Office & Administration Manager

Lisa brings skills in office administration & customer service to Chetwins. Lisa is the friendly voice on the end of the phone when you call our office and keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes so all our jobs flow seamlessly.
