ABOUT THE ROLE:
As a Site Manager at Chetwins Contracting, you will support the delivery of our projects for local body infrastructure, commercial construction, subdivisions, repairs and maintenance.
In this role, you will be accountable for personnel and equipment management on assigned sites to ensure that the project objectives of safety, cost, quality and process are met. This involves:
- Managing day-to-day construction activities.
- Managing onsite health and safety processes and documentation.
- Supporting onsite cost management and quality assurance.
- Working on the tools alongside the team for approximately 9 hours each day.
With our team, you will operate machinery of various sizes and working hands-on as part of the team to complete excavation works on projects within the Wellington, Wairarapa & Tararua regions, gain exposure to a

WHAT YOU NEED:
- A minimum of 5-years’ work experience in the civil construction industry.
- Understanding of the current safety regulations for construction and excavation works.
- Knowledge of the most advanced relevant civil construction methodologies.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Regional Infrastructure Technical Specifications (RITS).
- Ability to read and follow construction plans and instructions.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery when required.
- A minimum of 1-year team management experience.
- Ability to complete final trim and finishing works to excellent standards.
- Ability to operate safely around services.
- Full Driver’s Licence
- At least 5-years’ experience operating up to 20t excavators.
